ICMA BOARD NEWS
At the April meeting of the State Board of Directors, the resignation of Janice Nevius was regretfully accepted. Janice cited job pressures as her main concern. She still wants to be involved in performing and helping with various ICMA events. Thank you, Janice, for your service.
This means we now need two state board members. Let us know if you are interested. We would be glad to have you join us. If you just want to check us out, we are currently meeting in the Pavilion in Dooley Park, Downs.
You can always contact us online at ICMAIllinois@aol.com or write to ICMA, P.O. Box 79, Downs IL 61736-0079.
We are continually looking for ways to attract new members and have interesting programs for current members. If you have any ideas on how to achieve these goals, contact any board member.
We would like to find out any venues you may have in your area, where we could present an ICMA show.
We are running out of affordable places in the Bloomington-Normal area, and would like to possibly expand into other areas.
Entertainers would be encouraged to put on a show themselves, with other ICMA members as "openers" for the stars. The ICMA has a good sound system which can be used for most small to medium size venues.
If you know of anything in your area, and you would like to host such a show, let us know where, how much, seating, plus anything else you want to tell us about the facility. Just send an e-mail to ICMAIllinois@aol.com or write to us at PO Box 79, Downs IL 61736-0079.
ICMA Newsletter Deadlines
The deadline for submitting material for the July/August newsletter is June 1, 2013. We will of course accept material later than that, but we won't guarantee that we can get it in that particular issue; however, we will do our best.
I guess my main concern isn't deadlines, but in offering the members the best newsletter possible. I would like to issue a newsletter that doesn't need to resort to "fillers" to complete an issue. Send us a note and a picture or two from your performances.
This is a new feature drawn from our newsletter; an idea picked up from our friends in the Northern Illinois Bluegrass Association. If you have a local jam session open to the public, let us know and we will be happy to include your information. E-mail ICMAIllinois@aol.com or by mail at ICMA, PO Box 79, Downs IL 61736-0079.

*New Jam Session Debuts*
ICMA members Bill Grubb and Dean Greenlee announce the opening of a brand new jam session, which will be held on Tuesday evenings, 6:30 to 9:00 p.m., at the VFW building in El Paso.
They have hosted two sessions already, with a dozen or so at the first session, and growing to over 25 for the second one.
One of the sessions featured ham and beans provided by the Grubbs, and this was greatly enjoyed by the crowd. They will have snacks and treats at every event, but not necessarily a full meal such as the ham and beans. A 50/50 drawing will also be held to help pay for the facility.
Everyone is welcome, singers, pickers and just plain listeners.
The next session will be January 8, 2013. They would love to see you there.
